Summary
Hatched! is a social field-journal experience built on Apple platforms. Profiles, nests, reactions, Pair Bonds, and media you upload are synchronized through your Apple ID using CloudKit. The app is intended for adults located in the United States; it is not directed at children.
What we process
- Account & profile: CloudKit user record identifiers plus fields you provide such as display name, bio, and optional profile photo.
- Content: Nest metadata (species, notes, visibility), coordinates you attach, photos, optional short videos, comments, likes, Pair Bond relationships, and moderation signals (reports, blocks on device).
- Location: Precise coordinates when you tag a nest or use map features, subject to iOS permission prompts.
- Purchases: Apple processes payments; we receive entitlement status via StoreKit, not your card number.
- Notifications: If enabled, Apple Push Notification service handles device tokens and delivery.
How we use data
Data powers map browsing, feeds, search, collaboration, safety features, product improvements, legal compliance, and support responses. Automated screening hooks (text or optional media analysis) may run on device when Apple APIs permit.
Sharing
Other users see what you mark public or share with Pair Bonds. Apple operates CloudKit—review Apple’s Privacy Policy for infrastructure details. We do not sell personal information. Any future vendor with access will be disclosed here before collection begins.
Retention & deletion
Content remains while your account exists and features require it. Deleting nests or your account may be limited by CloudKit permissions; contact support if you need manual review. You can revoke location, camera, photos, microphone, or notification permissions at any time in the Settings app.
Security
We rely on Apple’s platform protections plus reasonable administrative safeguards. No online service is perfectly secure—protect your Apple ID credentials.
California & U.S. state rights
Residents of certain states may have rights to access, delete, or correct personal data, and to appeal decisions. Submit requests via the support email below. We verify eligibility as required by law.
Children
Hatched! is for users 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
